Postdoctoral Research Positions

The Institute for Quantum Information and Matter (IQIM) at Caltech
invites applications for postdoctoral scholar positions, which begin in
2012. IQIM investigators, spanning Caltech’s departments of physics,
applied physics, and computer science, conduct theoretical and
experimental research in quantum information science, quantum many-body
physics, quantum optics, and the quantum mechanics of mechanical
systems.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy (P&A) at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a tenure-track position (probationary appointment leading to a tenure decision) in Theoretical Physics, specializing in Quantum Information Theory. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in the teaching of undergraduate and graduate classes. They will be engaged in building a strong research group in quantum information science that enhances the activities of the Center for Quantum Information and Control (CQuIC) and strengthens P&A’s degree programs. A minimum requirement for this position is a PhD in Physics or a closely related field. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a breadth of research experience, a strong publication record, promise of scholarship, and a strong commitment to teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels, the potential to supervise student researchers, and the potential to enhance activities of CQuIC. Two Quantum Information Postdocs at EnLight in Brazil

Group of Entanglement and Quantum Properties of Light (EnLight) –
Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais – Brazil

The EnLight group is offering two post-doc positions for immediate
hiring. The fellowship includes a R$3.300,00 monthly reimbursement
plus R$12.000,00 per year of research grant exclusively for the
fellow. The fellowship runs for three years (foreigners have two years
guaranteed and the third year is conditioned on acquiring a permanent
visa in Brazil).

The candidate cannot accumulate this fellowship with another income
source and must have acquired his/her PhD degree in the last five
years.

The physics of information group at IBM Research Yorktown is

Postdoc Position in Theory of Superconducting Quantum Computing – Saarland University

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to perform theoretical research in an international research project in the area of quantum computing with superconductors, focus on control theory and efficient characterization of quantum systems. The background of a successful candidate is either in the area of superconducting nano structures, or in quantum control/quantum tomography.
