QKD Summer School July 25-29, 2011

We’d like to inform you about an innovative, five-day program this
July exploring both theoretical and experimental approaches to quantum
communication and quantum cryptography. Aimed at graduate students and young postdoctoral fellows from around the world, the International
Summer School on Information Security in a Quantum World will combine lectures with interactive tutorials to give participants a breadth of
knowledge and experience in this important field. The lectures will be tailored towards people who have a basic understanding of the concepts behind quantum communication, and want to deepen their knowledge of quantum cryptography, from its theoretical underpinnings to its practical realization. Confirmed speakers at the summer school include:

· Richard Hughes (Los Alamos National Laboratory)
· David Jao (University of Waterloo)
· Thomas Jennewein (University of Waterloo)
· Renato Renner (ETH Zürich)
· Douglas Stinson (University of Waterloo)

The school will be held July 25-29, 2011, at the Institute for Quantum
Computing, University of Waterloo, Canada. There is space for up to 60
attendees. There is no fee, but participants must cover travel and
accommodation costs (affordable accommodations have been reserved)
