My congratulations to DiVincenzo and Terhal, because now they will be the beneficiaries of universal health care, unlike us Americans, but isn’t this a deep blow to what we were led to believe was a re-energizing of the effort at IBM to build a scalable quantum computer based on superconducting technology? I thought IBM was hiring people from Martinis’ group, etc., in an effort to soup up their effort. Losing their theorists won’t help.
