Imagining One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten Dimensions

Here is an interesting little flash about imagining up to 10 dimensions.

  1. Very cool!
When I was 15, I suffered from chickenpox induced encephalitis for a 2-week period, and I believe I actually experienced living in about the 6th or 7th dimension… thanfully, with full 3-D communicatioon capabilities. I really understood, for a while, the nature of choice and its consequences through time… for things and people. It was maddening, but un/fortunately, I was able to snap out of it! It was an experience I wouldn’t exchange for anything in the world… except maybe the World Poker Championship bracelet!

  2. Actually, this animation is really misleading. They say the 4th dimension is time, and then talk about branching possible universes. They end up using this alchemical thinking to arrive at 10 dimensions, and claim that there’s “nowhere left to go”, whereupon they take credit for rediscovering string theory… yech.
    Nice use of Flash, though.

  3. he does include this in the preamble (emphasis mine):

The “theory of reality” that I advance on this website and in the book “Imagining the Tenth Dimension” is not the one that is commonly accepted by today’s physicists.

which I don’t know what to make of — especially the emphasized words.
