O brave new quantum world!

When I left physics for engineering, one of my first contracts was to write 8186 code for a graphics company. It was horrible. And I was severely underpaid. Clicking on that link brought back bad memories. I guess the latest chip from Intel still runs that disgusting instruction set.
I have to agree. I’ve done a lot of 8086 assembly over the years. Motorola was a far superior architecture, as was the PowerPC. No segments, no fuss.
Yeah, as a precocious pre-teen I learnt assembler on the Motorola 6809 – lovely chip (lots of SEX ;)). Then I switched to 8086 – what a culture shock that was.
Years later, I got to see some 68000, and, man, was I envious.
(Site’s down at the moment, so I can’t look at the code.)
