One of the cool things about being a scientist these days is that the level of international collaboration is fairly high, and this means that one gets to make exciting trips to exciting lands. Last week I booked some travel for the end of the summer. Italy and Singapore. What a rough rough life!
I first heard that song being sung by a set of extremely obnoxious plastic plants in a Pasadena Hallmark. Scarred my childhood.
Singapore is AWESOME. If it were closer, or cheaper to get there, I’d go there for vacation frequently. Check out the Electronics Mall (a gadget lovers heaven) and the millions of different kinds of amazing food – all sorts of Asian cuisines. Everyone speaks English and the shopping is awesome. And it’s clean and safe and the weather is perfect. I could go on…
Hi Dave,
I just stumbled upon your blog. I am looking forward to seeing you in Singapore. It is quite an exceptional place and it leaves no one indiferent. The food is amazing, the climate is weird and singlish is virtually a different language.
See you soon, Antia
