You know blogs are taking off when you’re in the airport listening to the audio of one of the 24 hour news stations and you listen as they report not on the news directly, as one might expect from their name, but on “what the blogs are reporting.” Ugh.
On the other hand, given the lame-ness of main-stream media (“MSM” in blog-world), people are relying more and more on blogs for news and analysis. It’s not totally a bad thing. Not having the news filtered through corporate-owned networks means more wading through random junk, but it also means being exposed to more stuff that might be snuffed out because of corporate interests.
Hey Dave, speaking of all things blogtastic check out the UQ group’s new website:

If you didn’t see it, Peter Jennings was on Jon Stewart last week (the night before his UFO show) and he had some interesting comments on bloggers and what it takes for him to start trusting one and using it as a resource.
Damnit Mic, stop reminding me I need to redesign my personal website 😉
Dude, you should see how out-of-date mine is…. I think my quote of the week hasn’t been changed in at least a year.
Just to really give you the heebee jeebees, dear man, I’m actually going to talk about blogs and privacy in employment tomorrow! Me, talking about blogs! And I only scored a 12 on the nerd test! Are you afraid yet?
