Congratulations, Pontiff. Although wait a second, the Pope can’t get married, so are you still a Quantum Pontiff ? HMMMMmm 🙂

  2. Wim van Dam says:

(Ha! I’m the first it seems.)

Congrats, Dave! Looks like the Great Wedding Diet of 2007 did you well!

  5. Ian Durham says:

Congrats Dave!! Welcome to the world of commitment. Now take out the garbage. 🙂 Seriously, marriage is a great thing (my ten year anniversary is next month). Cheers to a lifetime of wedded bliss!

  6. David Meyer says:

Congratulations Dave! You both look great.

  7. nextquant says:

many, many congratulations on your marriage! 🙂

  8. Kurt says:

Congratulations! But wait, that picture is dated the 15th; it took you almost two weeks to post it… what in the world have you been doing all that time?

  10. Greg Kuperberg says:

Congratulations! The wedding photo looks great. I’ve managed to gain weight while you’ve lost it. Ashland is a great place to visit as well as, I’m sure, a great place to get married. Make sure to see a play or two while you are there; and check out Morning Glory, one of the best breakfast restaurants in America.

Okay, this is dated advice now, but still, you can always come back.

  11. John Sidles says:

She is beautiful! My wife and I wish you both many, many years of happiness!

  12. Wow, my congratulations to both. Looks like you are meant to be together, and she is indeed a jewel.

Married life is wonderful, if you can take a bit of suffering and sacrifice for the common good. The reward is big. Only… After 10 years I forgot what it is. But I know it’s there, that’s the main thing.

  13. Graeme Smith says:

Congratulations! And it’s a very nice photo.

  14. serafino says:

No, the Pope can get married (a Quantum Pontiff only once, because of quantum monogamy). Pope Hormisdas (514-523) was married. His son has been Pope, under the name of Silverius (536-538).

  15. mick says:

Congrats Dave, how was the honeymoon? I wanna see beach photos!

  16. Frank says:

Planning to create little Alices and Bobs?

  17. Steve says:

    Congratulations Dave!

  18. Kaveh says:

Oh my! That’s beautiful(also the picture is). Congratulations!

  19. Ben Toner says:

    Congratulations Dave!

  20. Scott says:

Congratulations, non-celibate Pontiff! (It was a close race between the elder clown getting married and the younger getting gainfully employed, but the elder wins.)

  21. Congratulations,

Some are apparently taking issue. But of course, the Pontiff of the Quantum world is not obligated to take a vow of celibacy, so there is no problem.

  22. By the way, exempting Frank above I claim dibbs on any and all entanglement jokes.

  23. Chad Orzel says:

23 comments, and nobody has made a “collapse of the wavefunction” joke? What’s this world coming to?

  24. Dave Bacon says:

    Thanks all!

You all will be happy to know that our vows involved obeying……the laws of physics!

  25. Aaron says:

Congratulations! Wonderful news, and a wonderful picture!
