{"id":133,"date":"2018-09-18T03:45:07","date_gmt":"2018-09-18T03:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dabacon.org\/tesseract\/?p=133"},"modified":"2019-07-03T04:14:24","modified_gmt":"2019-07-03T04:14:24","slug":"concept-brining-outside-industrial-inside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dabacon.org\/tesseract\/2018\/09\/18\/concept-brining-outside-industrial-inside\/","title":{"rendered":"Concept: Brining outside industrial inside"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first thing most people notice when they enter into Tesseract home is the view.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-134\" src=\"https:\/\/dabacon.org\/tesseract\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/07\/IMG_20180210_063431-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-136\" src=\"https:\/\/dabacon.org\/tesseract\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/07\/IMG_20180406_190610.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"799\" height=\"440\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-135\" src=\"https:\/\/dabacon.org\/tesseract\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/07\/IMG_20180212_064641-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\"><br \/>\nThe home, in classic mid-century style, makes extensive use of glass and seeks to connect those inside the house with the outside.&nbsp; While not connected with &#8220;nature&#8221; per se, this home does strongly connect with the view outside, which includes the city skyline, the port of Seattle, Mt. Rainier and Elliot Bay.&nbsp; In contrast to nature scenes, these are scenes of pretty much constant activity: cars on the Magnolia bridge, cargo ships, grain ships, ferries, and sailboats on the bay, trains traversing through Interbay, and airplanes descending into both Boeing field and Seatac.&nbsp; Often visitors just sit with a view outside, and sit in a trance following the constant action going on outside.<\/p>\n<p>That the outside is so much inside already leads one to naturally consider bringing the outside into the decor of the inside.&nbsp; In particular the shapes of the city and of the port and the strong use of industrial materials can serve as an inspiration from outside in to the inside.&nbsp; An example that we have already tried is with this steel &#8220;coffee table&#8221;:<\/p>\n<p>Here the shape of the city is reflected, in miniature, back inside. the house<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-137\" src=\"https:\/\/dabacon.org\/tesseract\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2019\/07\/IMG_20180530_212118-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\"><br \/>\nWhile I don&#8217;t think we want to go &#8220;full industrial&#8221; on Tesseract Home, I would like to use the outside industrial view and areas as inspirations for shapes and some materials.&nbsp; See <a href=\"https:\/\/pin.it\/4ygmlx62rm2ny5\">this Pinterest board<\/a>, for some of these outside\/in inspirations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first thing most people notice when they enter into Tesseract home is the view.
