A postdoctoral position is available immediately for up to 33 months (from early September 2013), to undertake theoretical research in quantum effects in mesoscopic systems, including quantum many-body and hybrid systems.
\nEmphasis will be given, among other topics, to the thermodynamics of quantum devices.<\/p>\n
Applicants will hold (or be about to obtain) a relevant PhD in one of the following fields:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Theoretical quantum optics;<\/p>\n
\u2022 Theoretical condensed matter physics;<\/p>\n
\u2022 Theoretical quantum information processing.<\/p>\n
They will have a strong research experience in one or more of such areas. The successful applicant will become a member of the Quantum Technology group at Queen\u2019s University Belfast (QTeQ) [http:\/\/web.am.qub.ac.uk\/wp\/qo\/<\/a>], where they will work within the international team led by G. De Chiara, A. Ferraro, and M.
