{"id":2352,"date":"2009-06-24T18:48:59","date_gmt":"2009-06-25T01:48:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dabacon.org\/pontiff\/?p=2352"},"modified":"2009-06-24T18:48:59","modified_gmt":"2009-06-25T01:48:59","slug":"dangers-of-discussing-quantum-theory-in-public","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dabacon.org\/pontiff\/2009\/06\/24\/dangers-of-discussing-quantum-theory-in-public\/","title":{"rendered":"Dangers of Discussing Quantum Theory in Public"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An old friend from my undergrad days sent me a link to Physics discussion ends in skateboard attack:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A homeless man is on trial in San Mateo County on charges that he smacked a fellow transient in the face with a skateboard as the victim was engaged in a conversation about quantum physics, authorities said today.<br \/>\nJason Everett Keller, 40, allegedly accosted another homeless man, Stephan Fava, on the 200 block of Grand Avenue in South San Francisco at about 1:45 p.m. March 30.<br \/>\nAt the time, Fava was chatting with an acquaintance, who is also homeless, about &#8220;quantum physics and the splitting of atoms,&#8221; according to prosecutors.<br \/>\nKeller joined in the conversation and, for reasons unknown, got upset, authorities said.
