Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Fellow in Quantum Error Correction for Optical

The Center for Macroscopic Quantum Control (http://cmqc.snu.ac.kr) at Seoul NationalUniversity invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow or research fellow position. The successful applicant will initially perform theoretical research on quantum error correction and fault tolerance assessment with various types of all-optical quantum computing schemes and related topics, and will also be encouraged to develop new research projects. An ideal candidate would possess a strong background in quantum computation, error correction codes and their optical implementations.

The initial appointment will be for one year and renewable up to three years. The deadline is 15 November 2014, but late applications will be considered until the position is filled. Short-listed candidates will be contacted by us within November or within 3 weeks from their application dates. The position will be immediately available once the offer is made while the starting date is negotiable.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Health and safety insurance and severance pay will be supported according to university regulations and employment laws. Full financial support for two international conferences every year and a new laptop (or a desktop PC up to the candidate’s preference) will be provided during the employment period.
